Matthias Fawer

Matthias joined Vontobel in autumn 2016 as an ESG & Impact Assessment analyst with a focus on the Water, Renewable Energies, Energy Suppliers and Environmental Technologies sectors. Before joining Vontobel, he held similar roles at Vescore AG and Notenstein Privatbank AG (since October 2013). From July 2000 to 2013, Matthias worked as sustainability analyst at Bank J. Safra Sarasin.
Since 2002, he has authored studies on solar energy and renewable energies, and delivered lectures at various conventions. From 1992 to 2000, he worked in the ecology department of EMPA (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) as senior expert for eco-balance projects on behalf of Swiss and European industry associations. In 1996/1997, Matthias spent an exchange year with Boustead Consulting in England.
Matthias holds a degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD from the Institute for Biotechnology of ETH Zurich.
